Title: 12 March 2014: it's... 1987
Post by: RGMike on March 11, 2014, 07:38:18 PM
"Greed is Good" and "Snap OUT of it!"

(and FWIW, I requested "Talk Dirty to Me" by Poison, which I believe would be a bustout if we hear it.

"Don't Dream It's Over" - might be the first song to scream "AAA" when it was released (I think of "Mr. Jones" as being the lead HAC single).... and yes, it never needs to be played again.

Yah, I wasn't aware of that for a long time. It actually made me feel better about the song, since it seems like an awfully weak song, both lyrically and musically, but the George treatment definitely adds something to it.

Then of course there is the Weird Al interpretation "This Song Is Just Six Words Long".

The Harrison version was one of the few songs to have two videos played on MTV, if memory serves.

At least a better choice for BOS than Hiatt.

And outdistancing Westerberg et al is Sacramento's own Bourgeois Tagg. Heard this on the radio *a ton* circa 87. And then the band broke up and three of them became Todd Rundgren's backing band.

I think she solicits BOS votes as unique FB posts, replies to posts, from phone, from email.  If that's the case, it must take a lot of effort to collate them all (if she's being official, that is).

Renee seemed to collate from the single FB post.
