'83, Hour1: Miss Ross leads off with her completely forgotten "So Close" at its peak of #40.

Early WOSes: Vandenburg's "Burning Heart" (Dutch guys trying to sound like 1974 BadCo -- I'll have to pass these Dutchies on the left-hand side) and Starship's "Winds of Change" (not as horrid as some of their '80s stuff -- Grace nearly saves it -- but still).

Prince and Thomas Dolby: arrested for driving a Little Red Corvette while Blinded By Science.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! LoverSagaBoy, "Turn Me On The Loose". uber-WOS3. and WOS4 Sammy Hagar.

BOS1 Musical Yutes. BOS2 the Thompson Twins' not-heard-often-enuf "Lies"

Hour 2: this 20th century schizoid chart continues: horrid AOR crap sprinkled with occasional New Wave goodness.

WOS5 Steel Breeze; VHM ABC's "Poison Arrow".

BOS3: BJ in "Allentown".

uber-LN: Men at Work.

Hour 3: WOS6 ATF; WOS7 Crapton. Sheesh.

VHM JJ, unexpected BOS4 EWF's unfairly forgotten "Fall in Love With Me".

BOS5 and proxy "HAAAAAAY!" Frida.

WOS8 Chris Cross' "All Right", which appears to be plagiarizing Robbie Dupree's "Hot Hod Hearts" from 3 years previously.

'73 Hour 1: Jud Strunk spent 2 weeks at #40 before becoming a hit? That's unusual. VHM to a sweet little song.  I always liked Skylark's "Wildflower", but New Birth's version is superior.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HRHyjry864

BOSes for forgotten Chi-Lites and Jim Croce tunes.

uh, no, Casey -- Dobie Gray doesn't sound ANYTHING like Joe Cocker

BOS3 Still Bill's "Kissin' MAH Love"!

VHM one of Ree-Ree's least-played hits; BOS4 Judy Collins' lovely "Cook With Honey"

Hadn't heard the censored version of "Walk on the Wild Side" in ages. No head here.  BOS5 Bette's really stunning re-imagining od "Do You Wanna Dance"

Jermaine's "best friend Rhoda told me".

Hour 2: BOS6 Ms. Reddy's loverly cover of Kenny Rankin's "Peaceful"

VHM Sweet, but WTF is a "shimmy shuffle smile"?  awww... Donny O covers Johnny Mathis.

War are eating salted peanuts out of cans. or out of hands. or something. Sorry, guys -- I just had pancakes.

S&C lift us up to the heaven of holiness by worshipping hummingbirds. WTFF?

BOS7 Johnny Nash covering Marley.

uber-BOS8 Loudon Wainwright III -- c'mon, STINK!

from the ridiculous to the sublime: BOS9 Bread's "Aubrey"

Hour 3: I don't care what anybody says, "Duelling Banjos" is some kind of masterpiece. BOS10.

BOS11 the Rev. Green.  BOS12 Vicki Lawrence, an all-time slice of Top 40 cheeze.

Ain't no woman like the One-Eyed Gott!

I don't care what anybody says: "Playground in My Mind" is adorable. BOS13

and -- of course -- BOS14 Miss Gladys -- her mammaries get in her way.

BOS15 Deodato. Fab. Yoo. Luss.

Our Canadian friends keep screwing up that Beatles show -- playing the segments in the wrong order, and this week they cut off the last 10 minutes entirely.

'86 Hour1: I'm "Overjoyed" to give Stevie W BOS1.

Rebbie Jackson had a Top 40 hit before Janet did? That's just wrong. BOS2 JJ's "WHYDFML?"

eeek: WOS1 the Outfield. VHM ZZT.

aack: WOS2 Opus' "Live is Life" -- truly horrid.

VHM Jermaine -- he made so many good singles that you never hear any more. An underrated guy, IMHO.

instant WOS the Stampeders feat Wolfman Jack. For a song that only spent 2 weeks in the Top 40, it seems we've heard this one a lot in the last couple of years.

Larry Santos (who?) gets a surprise BOS1 for "We Can't Hide it Any More", a very nice singer-songwriter ballad.

BOS2 the Ohio Playaz little-heard "Fopp". Eddie Kendricks finds Jeezus.

"Lorelei" is movin' in. And "Shannon" is drifting out to sea.  BOS3 Henry Gross and his dead dog.

VHM the late great Freddy Fender.  LN: "Love Hurts".  VHM O'Jays, OMGWTF Jigsaw's *other* hit, "Love Fire"!

VHM John Denver's "Looking For Space", which I didn't appreciate at the time but which now sounds lovely. BOS4 Ms King's sadly forgotten "Only Love is Real".

Hour 2: BOS5 ABBA, "I Do"5 -- best Connie Francis record ever.  VHM Waylon & Willie; ditto "Junk Food Junkie".

BOS6 BeeGees -- "Love, Be Tender With My Fanny", or the Miracles will make my meter start to rise.

BOS7 Sweet, "Action". LN2: Eagles.

VHM Salsoul Orch's "Tangerine", one of the best of the retro-'40s disco hits.

VHM the Carpenters' sweet (if unnecessary) Herman's Hermits cover.

uber-LN3 (and TANC if you saw that viral video yesterday): Queen. Spare me my life from this monstrosity.

Hour 3: someone drops a cup and Frampton submerges. or something.

VHM: the Commode doors.  Ditto Dr Hook's rather sweet Sam Cooke cover.

The BCRollers rawk! and Bob Gaudio loses his virginity.

The Bellamys let it flow; Toni and the Captain do another Wacky Sedacky tune.
