Here's my 2nd 1987 set (done prior to Renee's '87 set):

  6. Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam - Head To Toe

any woman who can give head to my toe deserves props.

14-karat love, you are my Jewel of the Nile
When we make love Diamonds are Forever...

This would easily win BOS if Renee played it.
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

Here is the other 1980 set I made (this one after hearing Renee's recent '80 set):

 1. The Temptations - Power
(TV: WKRP In Cincinnati)
 2. Ry Cooder - Down In The Boondocks
 3. Dave Mason with Michael Jackson - Save Me
(Movie: Airplane!)
 4. Jermaine Jackson with Stevie Wonder - Let's Get Serious
 5. Roxy Music - In The Midnight Hour
 6. Joe Jackson - The Harder They Come
(TV: Countdown - George Benson)
 7. George Benson - Off Broadway
 8. Squeeze - If I Didn't Love You
(TV: WKRP In Cincinnati)
 9. Kool & The Gang - Love Festival
(News: Margaret Thatcher)
10. The English Beat - Stand Down Margaret

https://soundcloud.com/retrocapnjack/76-10-10-1980

As with the '74 set, it has a "soul patrol" feel to it (half of it anyway).  Enjoy!

these ads warning people about food poisoning from improperly stored leftovers is kinda getting on my nerves.

urth, I think you'll especially enjoy the first WKRP clip... ;)

Some wacky combinations there -- Dave Mason and Michael Jackson?!?

Yes, the WKRP bits went over very well w/ me. I need to seek out some episodes from the 2nd & 3rd seasons (they being not available on DVD, so far as I know).

BOS: Squeeze; VHM Roxy & English Beat
Let's get right to it.

Someone on SoundCloud asked me if there was an archive of old Dave Morey 10@10 shows.  Is there one?
If there is, I could do some sets using DM/Don Pardo (or Monty Hall) voices.  Does anyone know?

ETA: RGMike and urth, have you listened to what I have up on the SoundCloud pages?

The Stills' version of "Loner" was NTM, as was the Buffett tune -- which is so lovely it's hard to believe it's him.  A lost gem, that.

'87 and '74 yes, the other two I'll try to get to sometime today if I can. I'll give the "all clear" when I've heard either or both. I've been away from home for the last 5 days, so it kinda threw off my listening habits.
Let's get right to it.

4th visit to 1973:

 5. Paul Simon - Something So Right

one of my favorite Simon songs ever -- i can't believe it hasn't been covered by every cabaret singer in the world. It oughta be a standard.  (Streisand did it later that year but few have tried it since)
