Very nice.  Picks up after the Beach Boys (not my idea of a good time, impressive harmonies aside, and I'm no Deadhead).  That's probably my favorite JA track, and the guitar back ONJ was very cool.  The Chicago track was bizarre, with the Beach Boy inspired section.  Nice finish with the Mr. Cash.

Enjoyed the heck out of it!  Thanks.

I'll listen to this after lunch today.  Meeting cancelled; listening now.  The ONJ cover of the George tune was much-maligned at the time but I've always kinda liked it. Adore the Denise LaSalle, Isleys, and the JA (which AL played once -- one of my many requests of that era).

And oddly, despite my frequent Dead-bashing, "PITB" is Dead-when-I-still-liked-them.

I dig this because it recognizes that the Dead's strengths were mainly live.  The "Skull and Roses" album, which is simply called "Grateful Dead" (many refer to it as the 'skullfuck' album) is a totally classic disc, but DJ's tend to ignore live albums.

And I love the JA song too!  Mike and I agree once in a while!

 4. Charles & Eddie - Would I Lie To You?

Enjoy!

Minor point r/ your 92 set: The KLF/Tammy Wynette tune (which I would so love to hear) is actually "Justified And Ancient".

10. Vanessa Williams - Save The Best For Last

Oh my but I love that one. A classy, beautiful piece of old-fashioned A/C songwriting -- co-written by Wendy Waldman, of all people! -- and Ms Williams sings the heck out of it. Deserving of its multiple Grammy noms (it lost to "Tears in Heaven", BTW). Stellar.

Hey, I love what you've been doing but can you give us a few days to catch up?  I haven't heard either of the two that are up right now, nor the 89 set. Two or three a week is about my limit right now, unless we can find someplace where you can post more than two at a time.
Let's get right to it.

No problem.  I'll slow up down now that Renee is back -- last week I wanted to have something new each day in lieu of Renee "classics".  I'll reupload any/all sets that anyone requests.

ETA: I took down the 1971 to add 1974 (for timely purposes).  I'll reupload 1971 and 1989 sometime this week.

Okay, this 1974 set is fresh off the editing block:

 1. Fancy - Wild Thing
 2. Glen Campbell - Houston (I'm Comin' To See You)
(HFH medley: Terry Jacks - Seasons In The Sun / Blue Swede - Hooked On A Feeling /
Bo Donaldson & The Heywoods - Billy, Don't Be A Hero / Paper Lace - The Night Chicago Died)
 3. Chicago - Byblos
(TV: Sanford and Son)
 4. Lamont Dozier - Fish Ain't Bitin'
(Paul McCartney on Peggy Lee)
 5. Peggy Lee - Let's Love
(TV: All In The Family)
 6. Al Green - Let's Get Married
 7. Patti Dahlstrom - He Did Me Wrong, But He Did It Right
(Elvis Presley divorce monologue)
 8. George Jones - The Grand Tour (R.I.P. George Jones)
(TV: Soul Train)
 9. MFSB featuring The Three Degrees - TSOP (The Sound Of Philadelphia) (R.I.P. Vince Montana Jr.)
10. Richie Havens - Someone Suite (R.I.P. Richie Havens)

https://soundcloud.com/capnjack-1/31-10-10-1974

This one is rushed in honor of the passings of the three mentioned above (something AL would have done).

I'm going to slow down posting new sets to allow requests to be reuploaded.  If you have any requests, let me know!

ETA: Took this down to upload 1994. Let me know if you need me to reupload.

Okay, this 1974 set is fresh off the editing block:

listening now. This Chicago track is a lost gem. And of course the Lamont Dozier is a longtime fave of mine. "Tricky Dick! Stop yo' S**T!"

Damn, never knew that Macca/Peggy Lee story -- lovely tune.

The Richie Havens was NTM -- oddly, since WNEW-FM were huge supporters of his (Pete Fornatale would *always* play a new Richie LP) but I don't recall hearing that one.

and some genius segues, man.
