7 Nov 2012: it's... 1987
« on: November 07, 2012, 09:17:53 AM »
Well, I'll predict a mid-to-late '80s set and hope I'm wrong.

Fall-back option: The Sound is doing '65 today.

Depeche Mode never lets me down again.

I'll also grudgingly give a BOS to the P-Furs.  But they need to find another song of theirs.

This set seems to be about as welcome as Mitt/Paul hanging out at Fox News this day.

Hee.  Given that '87 was traditionally one of Dave's weakest years (AL made it better, but still) I just didn't feel compelled to hear DC's version.

1. REM - The End Of The World As We Know It
2. U2 - With Or Without You
(Movie: Raising Arizona. All babies are beautful - even stolen babies)
3. Fleetwood Mac - Big Love
4. Aerosmith - Dude Looks Like A Lady
(News: What should you do when someone offers you drugs?  Just say NO)
5. Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again
6. Pink Floyd - On The Turning Away
7. Psychedelic Furs - Heartbreak Beat
(News: Lionizers, hookers and liars, OH MY)
8. George Michael - Faith
9. The Grateful Dead - Throwing Stones
10. The Cure - Why Can't I Be You?

good lord, that's awful.
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

Gee, too bad I missed most of it, just tuned in to #7, meh to me.  #2,4,6,9 make it pretty interesting, to me.

to be clear, I like a lot of these songs but in 10@10 terms, virtually all of them are frequent-fliers.
