RIP Marv Tarplin, Miracles guitarist/songwriter, 70
« on: October 24, 2011, 08:48:43 AM »
He died Sept 30th but I just heard about it this weekend ... he co-wrote (with Smokey R) many of the Miracles biggest hits -- "Tracks of my Tears", "Goin' to a Go-Go", "My Girl is Gone" etc etc, as well as Smokey's big solo numbers "Cruising" and "Being With You" and dozens of other people's hits like "Ain't That Peculiar".

Really underreported; I think TIME ignored this.  His guitar was *crucial* to some of those early Miracles hits and to "Ain't That Peculiar."
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”
