in a kind of reverse-KFOG stunt, Atlantic 2NG is running "'80s-Free Wednesdays". LOL!

"The Sweetest Feeling" is my favorite late-period Jackie Wilson 45.

OMFG: NTM, a Michael Buble/Sharon Jones duet (!) of the old Brook Benton/Dinah Washington classic "Baby You Got What it Takes".  Me likey. Thanks, 1340 The Boardwalk!

Boze-de-boze-de-BOP! Louis Prima's original "Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody" medley. Eat yer heart out, DLR.  Followed by Dusty's "Brand New Me", one I never tire of.

2NG's retro-chart is 1971 today. But prior to, it's Kid Creole! "if I was in your blood, then you wouldn't be so ugly!"

Wow , the Bay City Rollers had a hit as far back as '71? Covering the Gentrys' "Keep on Dancin'"

BOS George, even tho' he rhymes "Desh" with "mess" and "distress".

ooo! Northern Soul from the Formations: "At the Top of the Stairs"

NTM: Mungo Jerry doing a dead-on Dylan impression, "You Don't Have to Be in The Army (to Fight in the War)".

DUUUDE! Tull's "Life's a Long Song" is a very nice surprise.

2NG has been stellar this afternoon: Junior Campbell (ex-Marmalade) just did "Hallelujah Freedom", and now the 3 Degrees are showing us their Hoo-Hahs (and their Hah-Hoos).

OMG: New Edition, "Candy Girl" -- *swoon*!

OMG2: the Members, "Sound of the Suburbs"

For shame: The Boardwalk plays the censored edit of "Brown-Eyed Girl". Hadn't heard that version in a while.  Luckily Jackie Wilson's whispers are gettin' louder, Peaches.

And Barbara Acklin's "Love Makes a Woman" is easily one of my 5 favorite soul singles of all time.

ETA: later, on 2NG, ABBA's "Hasta Manana" is NTM -- it sounds like Connie Francis meets "Fernando".

And now it's the Jam, "Eton Rifles" -- ah feel like a naughty schoolboy!
