I'm gonna predict the Monkees, "Last Train to Clarksville."
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

(P.S.  Internet connection is fixed.  For now, at least.  We'll see if I can stay tuned in for an hour without choking.)

BOS with reservations: "Over Under Sideways Down" (the reservation is that it's in that damn car commercial now).

That's an even bigger stretch than my line about same-sex love in "Jailhouse Rock".

On the other hand, from the TV medley: "Wait'll you see my gidget!"
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

Los Bravos, a near-perfect single

BOS2: Los Bravos, "Black Is Black."  Always loved Mike Kennedy's wail.  Anyone else here ever hear his solo single "Louisiana"?  Stunning shoulda-been-a-hit.

Why yes.  And she was thrilled that it was made a hit by Mexicans who became German expats.

Meanwhile, BOS3 to the Four Tops, second time I've heard this today (first was on Micky Dolenz's oldies morning show).
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

While I'm old enough to have dug this tune when it actually was in the top 40, I never knew anything about them, their names, or any other subsequent ripples they may have made in the pond of music.
