21 June 2010: Here Comes Summer!

Yup, it's a summer songs set. Here's one we won't hear, I'm sure: "Here Comes Summer", a 1977 rarity by a group who called themselves Wildfire. It's a somewhat Eagles-ish remake of the Jerry Keller hit from 1959.  I still own this 45; didn't find out until recently that one of the members of Wildfire was DJ Scott Shannon of WPLJ, Z-100 and "True Oldies Channel" fame.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! Those damn Krauts (or Dutchies, or whatever) are lost in Sausalito again. But I may blow a gasket. WOS.

I'll pass on the Dutchies, too. It's a good song to hear once in a blue moon, though.

Ack...2 theme sets in a row.  I've noticed quite a few theme sets lately (the themes which seem to get more and more unnecessary imo) tho - and more 90s too - is she back to doing one each 60s/70s/80s/90s/theme per week?

I dunno, June is just a big theme month -- we didn't get "Summer" last year because it was a Sunday. Friday will be the Pride Set, BTW.

I believe they're Dutch, and they seem like dubious drivers, exercising poor decisions: they're driving the Grapevine without a spare!  idjits!  No wonder more bikes are used than cars in Amsterdam.
