did anyone take this Max Frost thing seriously at the time?
What's the "Max Frost thing"?  I see he did the song, but is there more to it?

I got to know Tim Bogert personally later on in my guitar world, and now find it odd to see the old videos of how crazy he was at the time.  He's such a gentlemanly sort of guy!

meaning, the song?  I think it was seen as "fake" rock music (and the fact that it was written by Brill Building popmeisters Mann & Weill didn't help its rep) but in retrospect it is (to my ears) one of the great rock singles of the era.

I thought, perhaps erroneously, that it was related to the movie 'Wild in the Streets.'

BOS3 Cliff Nobles & Co, "The Horse" -- yes, it's just an endless vamp, for the most part, but a fab record anyway.  dig them horns.
