HM to "Down on Me": great song, great drumming, but the production is shoddy to my ears, and Janis seems as though she just wants to get it over with.

tomorrow '76 which presumably we won't hear.

Since Chicago also lost their oldies station to Jack, I'm betting we get less '80s sets on the Drive for a while.

BTW I never heard the "trumpet coda" version of the Beatles tune on the radio back then (and if it wasn't on the single I can't imagine who would've played it). I didn't hear it until Rarities came out

great album, but definitely made on the cheap, compared to Steve Miller, Dead, Airplane, Quicksilver first forays.  Listening to that album takes me right back to being a teenager walking down Haight St.

Do you have any idea how envious I am right now?  Were time mine to manipulate, I would place myself at age 18 in 1967, sharing a dive with fellow freaks (albeit with a greater emphasis on hygiene than the sterotype suggests).

I was 16 for most of 1967, and certainly treasure my memories of that time, but the tradeoff for being born earlier is getting older earlier!  Oy!! :lol:  :lol:  :lol:
