the Paging Darryl thread
« on: September 26, 2009, 09:07:46 AM »
I checked with Darryl offline & he agreed this is a good idea, so here it is.

He even said that one of these days he might get around to putting web front page on a MySQL Db so that anyone could do their own searches.

Yeah, we should get together on this site.  Maybe if Darry's interested, we can put them here, using the MySQL stuff I don't understand!
Don't stand in the way of LOVE!

After today's set, I noticed that we hadn't heard 21 Guns for a couple of days post-set. Later on I checked back thru the previous 24 hours on the "just played" engine, and did not see it listed at all during that time. (Granted, there had been about a 3-hour lapse in data from around 3pm to 6pm, so it could well have been played there.) However, that's still a significant drop in the rotation from what we'd been hearing, even last week. Could you check your data scraper and see if this is in fact the case, or if I'm deluding myself?
Let's get right to it.

Whoops!  Missed this.  Sorry about that.  Hey -- I have a new DIY system.  It's ugly as sin and not optimized at all.  I need to add date/time ranges too.  Also a checkbox to "use same search for both".  Feh, JavaScript.  And CSS.  And MySQL indices.  And fancy looking pages.  :-P

Faster link if you're only trying to search (not see last 200 played):  http://rudebadmood.com/foglist/search.php

Of course. :-}

Oh, btw, I'd like to add paging to get beyond 200 results.  Now that I found the STARTROW parameter for MySQL's WHERE clause, this should be easy.

ALSO, if anybody wants direct MySQL read access (it can talk to Microsoft Excel via ODBC, for instance), I would *LOVE* to see the data get used more creatively (frequency charts, trends over time, etc.)  Just PM me if you want the access.
