Best line yet: Bill Maher, on his show Friday (he's been on vacay the last 3 weeks) called MJ "The most famous white lady to die since Princess Diana". LOL!

ansd here's his entire "New Rules" rant, which climaxes in his comparison of MJ to the US. Genius, really.

ROTFL.  especially this bit on obesity among US children:  "Michael Jackson didn't die of a heart attack.  His play-date rolled over on him."
"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."

This was great!  I hope someone compiles a best-of list - I saw only a couple genuinely good moves.  But this is a delightful we're-all-one-world project regardless of skills.

Amazing how many of them were from Colombia, Mexico, Brazil and other Latin American countries.
Let's get right to it.

that's good, but the Greatest Hits covers 71-75 and Joe didn't join the Eaglets until late 75.  :)

clip of MJ and Roberta Flack from the 74 movie "Free To Be You And Me".  wonderful little ditty, I loved this soundtrack a a kid, and it turns out I still do!  I've been singing it for two days (same thing w the title track from the movie).

what can you say about the lyrics they're singing?   "I don't want to change at all?"  oh my...

Latest paternity rumblings: Mark Lester, former child actor and star of Oliver!

says he may be the sperm donor who fathered MJ's kids:

I wanted to say "please, sir... may I have some more?" but the first commenter on SFGate beat me to it!

reviving this thread for the 1st anniv. Amazingly, eternalmoonwalk.com is still up and, er, running.

I'd forgotten how long this thread ended up being -- easily the longest RIP thread in our history.

Apropos of MJ's anniv, I just watched the docu This is It -- a real mixed bag. Some impressive sequences, to be sure, but other stuff just seemed repetitive and in the case of things like the "new" Thriller video he was making (in 3-D!), sorta desperate.  The fawning interviews with dancers and techs also grated, and I forgot how much "Heal The World" sounds like "We are the World".  Glad I didn't pay $15 to see it in IMAX.
