Nice editing, Dave!

Re: "Funkytown":

Frank Zappa, dismissively: "Song's pretty white."
Davy Jones, annoyed: "Yeah, well, so am I."

In a nicer post, it's too bad there won't be a Saturday set for Dave to play City Boy.

"Got a wife and kids in Baltimore, Jack
I went out for a ride and I never went back."

And people treat this song as an anthem.  No wonder Bruce is the most frequently misunderstood writer of our generation.

HM "Hungry Heart".

The River is one of the bestest double-albums everer.

Damn. NY wins the Springsteen Derby, hands down. I'd much rather hear Sherry Darling (or any of half a dozen other songs from The River) than getting Hungry Heart for the umpteenth time.  Flo & Eddie notwithstanding.
Let's get right to it.

VHM Dire Straits. and Bruce. But "Sherry Darling" on the Peak earlier was exactly what I mean by the difference between the 2 sets.

Except for "Funkytown", this set is an all-too-accurate snapshot of where AOR was at in 1980.  And that's why New Wave/"alternative" happened, chillun.

A-freaking-men.

Geez, even I know this song isn't intended as a guide to life or something. Dang.

Now, see- RUSH fans don't misinterpret RUSH... ; )

HM to a shoulda-been-hit, "All Night Thing."  I know Alicat's getting her swerve on to this one.
