i've been listening to nilsson's 'think about your troubles' on repeat today. i think it's the perfect song. ever. recorded.

only it should be longer. harry must have been on a short trip.

Is it as perfect as ABBA's "Dancing Queen?"

much, much better. 'dancing queen' doesn't even sound like a song next to 'think about your troubles.'

No, he hasn't.  Should he?

P.S.  The Perfect Song is "More Today Than Yesterday" by Spiral Starecase.

To me, it was the moment that Mr C-T crossed over in to self-parody -- not a good thing to do on only your second LP.  The reaction at the time from critics was astonished horror (it's one thing to salsa up Billie Holliday, or turn Laura Nyro into a rodeo queen; it's another to dare to mess with a newly minted satanic classic).  The band never really recovered, despite some other fine stuff on that and the next album.

Actually the song we're hearing right now,  "Don't Fear The Reaper" is one of my candidates for perfect song.

Yee Haw!!  Even got the cowbell going.
