another BOS Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Ian McLaglan and Kenney Jones...

ditto Stones' "Sympathy" -- so powerful.  I think it's their best song, but not necessarily my top favorite...

Here's a drinking game that I have invented but never yet played.  But I'm sure it would work:

Last one woo-hoo-ooo-ing wins!

LOL...!  I'm getting a head rush just thinking about it.

For years I used this Tiny Tim message on my answering machine at Christmastime.  Didn't get around to it last month ...

I've been trying to find out more about that "IBM computer plays music" radio clip... I'm intrigued every time I hear it for some reason.

"Stay tuned for more Don McNeil in the Cloud Room of the Atherton Hotel in Chicago."

where does Dave find these things?

Small amount of info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daisy_Bell

And "Dear Prudence" just flashed me back to late-summer/early-fall 1991.  My friend Bill had made me a tape copy of his dad's vinyl copy of the White Album, and I listened to it a lot in my first few weeks away at college.  DP and "Martha My Dear" remain the sledgehammers of the period for me.

In recent years I think he's gotten lots of them off the web, but he's had this one for quite awhile, so no telling. Perhaps there's a group of radio aircheck geeks out there who've been trading recordings for years?

I think there are compilations of clips and ads. I saw one a Borders last week while I was browsing the CD bins.

After looking thru the DB, there are fantastic 68 sets.

You'd be surprised (...then again maybe not) at how many of these kinds of things were pressed to vinyl.  I've stumbled across some really interesting stuff at Amoeba & similar places of the years (starting at Wuxtry in St. Louis when I was about 14).  I just think Dave was a master dumpster diver for a long time.

BOS9, the *other* Friends.

Wow, that mention of Rick Danko's death dates this set to December of 1999--he died on the 10th, so it'd be the 10th or maybe the 11th.
Let's get right to it.

Meant to mention that I heard Elton John's Friends the other day while in a store someplace, the first time I'd heard it since Dave played it as his swan song. And I just couldn't listen to it the same way. That song has been stamped in my mind forever as Dave's.
