BOS 2: "America".  Finally heard that live Bowie version of this on DDT yesterday.

Love the reference to "Mrs Wagner pies". Do they still sell those in NYC?

BOS1 to S&G.  Even if the man in the gabardine suit is kind of a silly verse, there's so much poignance in this tune that I sometimes have to not listen too closely.  My love-hate relationship with America, for ya.

I don't need to ever hear "Respect" or "Think" again.  Sorry I'm taking them for granted, but there's so much else to explore in the Aretha catalogue.

They're those little snack pies that you can hold in your hand (here in SF they sell "Home Run Pies").  Mrs Wagners were big in the '60s & early '70s and I can't remember when I last saw one.

Amen to that.  2 fave Aretha songs Dave & Bob have never played:

"Don't Play That Song"
"Share Your Love with Me"

I could go without "Magic Carpet Ride" for a real long time too...
