Hey, I'm outta here tonight: Greyhounding to spend 4 days with the family in Pittsburgh.  (Saxonburg and Valencia, to be precise; the latter of which is next to Mars, PA.)  Back Friday morning - so I want to wish you all safe travels and happy holidays, with my gratitude for another year of treasured friendship and companionship in the Clubhouse.  I'm really grateful for you all in my life.

This week bad for me too, hitting only 50%.

I'm grateful to all of you here for being here. Glad almost all of us are now on FB but this is more intimate. I hope 2009 is an improvement on 2008. My year has been less fortunate than any other year but I can't lose sight that I'm better off than so many others.

Holy sheet! Niners win! I'm pleased and dumbfounded.

I didn't hear "the rest of the story" until this morning...  Singletary wanted to pull Shaun Hill from the game after the 3rd quarter, but Hill -- who is from Missouri and had many many relatives who had driven hours to see him play in St Louis -- basically told Singletary he wouldn't let the team down in front of his entire family.

Week didn't go so well for me but I bumped up in the overall pool. 7 people ahead of me now. Chicago pick tonight paid off. That was a fun game.

Made my picks a couple days ago but was surprised that there were no pro games on Xmas Day. I thought they nearly always had at least one game on Chistmas--NFL is the national religion, no?

NHL Sharks on the 23rd was a freaking treat! Helluva game. Lasted me thru the past few days. Stay tuned for the Blackhawks/Red Wings outdoor classic on New Years day. That's a fun one.

Just the opposite for me -- too little too late, obviously, but I've got 12 wins going into tonite; if SD wins it'll be my best week all year. Go figure.
