ooh, I saw KC and the Sunshine Band at the San Mateo county Fair a couple weeks back. it was great, I gotta say!
He's got, like, seven or eight instantly recognizable hits, and when you're dancing to them (uh ... you do dance .. .don't you?) it's like you're worshipping at one the Disco godheads. The guy's put on many pounds, is 57 years old, and doesn't take himself or his place in the Disco era too seriously.
He's got two super hot dancer chicks, two lady backup singers, a full band w horn section, and he does several costume changes, each outfit more tasteless and garish then that last. Sooo many sequins...! Very Vegas-style, but very enjoyable stuff.
The Village People opened the night's festivities, and they've got a good sense of humor about themselves, too, but their "music" is just so one-dimensional and not as fun as KC's set.
I love county fairs...
