Let's carry this thread over to tomorrow - I had too much work to do to listen to anything this afternoon.  :(  Many in the company are down in Florida at a sales meeting, leaving me in charge of too much for my liking.  (I declined to go to said meeting -- too much to do here, and besides, I gots no love for Florida.)

Mr Manilow, "Wknd in NE". Randy Edelman wasn't pleased (supposedly) with what Clive Davis did to his song, ma.

But he took the residuals anyway.

Well, Randy was a "serious" singer-songwriter. The original is apparently much more downbeat. Davis gave it a new arrangement and (I believe) a different, hookier chorus.
