BOS to RFTW's forgotten follow-up to "Oh Sheila," "Digital Display."  Predictor of cyberlove!

How did the "Yacht Rock" folks not think to incorporate a Little River Band plot?  VHM to "Happy Anniversary."

And did you hear Casey's story about David Gates taking "yacht rock" literally? LOL!

I also loved that the segue from Odyssey to Foreigner was a segue from "Native New Yorker" to "the Apple in decay".

"Samantha Sang... and the world listened!" But I didn't -- I lost my connection right before Samantha, er, sang.

The XM 70's version was from Feb 12, 1972 where two versions of I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing (in Perfect Harmony) was in the top 40.

Woo Hoo! "Sad Sweet Dreamer"! "Up in a Puff of Smoke"! "Doctor's Orders"! "I am Love"! plus fabulous '70s cheese from Al Martino, TO & Dawn, and ONJ.  Not to mention Macca's incredibly forgettable "Sally G" in its one and only week in the Top 40. Not to be missed.

A lot of bad stuff too, in the early reaches.  Ringo's "Snookeroo" was OK, but man, "Sally G" SUCKS!  Also the Carpenters' antiseptic take on "Please Mr. Postman," and now debuting at #35, the horridly sung "Shame, Shame, Shame."  "Put on your shaggy wig, woman, or I ain't comin' back!"

A curiosity: I new about Scott English's "Brandy," of course, but Casey played a clip by a New Zealand artist named Bunny Walters before playing Mandy Manilow style.

OTOH, one of several BOS votes to come for "Laughter in the Rain."

It's Mike's least favorite lucky Puerto Rican hairdresser!  Disco Tex, "Ted Danson."

Wow, I really love the melody on the chorus of "My Boy."  Elvis shoots and scores!

Best Forgotten Track of Set: Carole King's "Nightingale."  I really should own this.

In this countdown we heard Ringo, Paul, and now John at #9 with "#9 Dream."  George just missed being here when his single "Ding Dong, Ding Dong" had peaked at #36 in early 2/75, in the Top 40 for just two weeks.  I wonder if all four had solo hits on AT40 at the same time??

Haha, I was just wondering this very thing!  Mike, you don't have the week-by-week Billboard books, do ya?

Meanwhile, another sentimental BOS vote to "My Eyes Adored You," originally to be titled "Brown Eyes in Georgia," IIRC.

Man, the "That's so gay" ad campaign has got to be the most unpersuasive thing ever.  Geesh.

Followed shortly by "Asterisk! Asterisk! Mark of the Fraud!"

But his version is rather sappy compared to the Richard Harris orig.

OK, I have No. Fucking. Clue. what either of those references are.  ???

And yes, I have the Billboard chart books ('60s, '70s and '80s). And I'm sure all four Fabs were in the 40 at one time (I believe it was a question answered by Casey at one point) but It'll take a while to tell you specifics.
