the weird "Love Is Thicker Than Water" debuting at 39.

Andy's "love" was thicker than anybody's, if you catch my drift  ;)

Looking forward to hearing this chart tonite, as I write my Xmas cards.  I *love* that High Inergy song, BTW; one of the great forgotten soul records of the decade IMHO. Too bad Motown wasn't able to turn them into consistent hitmakers.

If you SF folks are able to catch JJ on KPOO tonite I highly recommend; heard his Friday afternoon '70s "preview" and he played Marvin Gaye's "You Sure Love to Ball", which you NEVER hear on the radio.

I'm up at 10am for the '77 countdown.

And there are three men in full Santa suits standing in my hallway.

Is it the hash?

Were any of them packing flasks? Perhaps three Santas heading off to the annual Cacaphony Society "drunken Santa" parade.

Let's get right to it.

It's actually a worldwide event at this point... what started as "Santarchy" is now called "SantaCon":

Casey's '80s land on Dec. 24, 1983.  NTM at 39: Deborah Allen, "Baby I Lied."  Not the Fame actress; a C-W singer.

BOS votes to Manilow-does-Meatloaf, "Read 'em and Weep," Culture Club's near-twin-spin of "Church of the Poison Mind" and "Karma Chameleon," and Elton John's return to the Top 10, "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues," the latter of which I enjoy performing at karaoke.

you have your choice -- check back in the thread for the MANY various links to stations that carry it. Gaz & Wayback listen Sat mornings to a station in Chico; I usually catch it Sat nite from Madison, WI or Sun morning from Boise, ID. And locally, over-the-air KYUU 1550 AM runs it Sunday at noon.

Here's a list of stations streaming Casey's "A.T.40-The 70s", so you can listen online at a time convenient for you:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_stations_that_air_Casey_Kasem's_American_Top_40:_The_70's
I listen online either Sat's 7am-10am on www.chicooldies.com or Sundays 8-11am on KJR Seattle (the playlist link), or over the air Sunday's 12-3pm on SF's 1550AM (thou not a good clear signal).  Mark, since you're in Dublin, you can also hear it over air Sundays 10am-1pm on 97.5 KABX Modesto, which I get fine in my car in the Tri-Valley, but not at home (stupid hills).  Unfortunately they don't stream:

And here's list of stations running Casey's '80's "A.T.40" shows:
