Off to a nice start with "As" at 40

Meant to add: TANC - while in SF, I caught the episode of The Jeffersons in which George is managing Sister Sledge (here as "the Satin Sisters") and gets them a gig at a redneck bar.  They end up doing a verse and a half of "As" and make the cowboys cry.

BOS to Paul Davis, "I Go Crazy."  Mopey barroom pop that sends me back to the Thunderbird Lounge, where a 5-year-old had no business hanging out in 1978, but there you have it.

I'm up at 10am for the '77 countdown. And there are three men in full Santa suits standing in my hallway. Is it the hash?
Hey Gaz, perhaps those Santas in your hallway were ZZ Top  ;)
I joined in today's countdown on chicooldies.com at #30, Elvis "My Way."  For the AT40 Extra going into top of the hour, Casey took the time to tell the real backstory of "Rhiannon."  Then, big memories of winter '77 hearing back-to-back "She's Not There" and "We Are the Champions" followed by the continuing chart run of "I Go Crazy."  Sorry to have missed meeting you, Urth, Alicat, etc last Sat but I really did have a cold from Thurs thru Tues.  Sounds like y'all had a nice time!

Shaun Cassidy with another cover of an Eric Carmen tune, "Hey Deanie." He hit earlier in '77 with Carmen's "That's Rock and Roll" as follow-up to his #1 cover of "Da Do Ron Ron."  Guess we got that covered.

Casey plays a bit of Simon & Garfunkel's '57 song "Little Schoolgirl" (then billed as Tom & Jerry) as intro to #15, Paul Simon's "Slip Slidin' Away"

I'd never heard "Hey Schoolgirl" before!

BTW, nice to see that you've caught on to our Santa-hat tradition.  :)

WOS to "Heaven on the 7th Floor."  That kind of rapey-creepy deserved an answer record.

Well, like many guys, I dug Linda in the 70's, even had that "over the shoulder" poster on the back of my bedroom door back then!
