I had no idea of the existence of this Righteous Brothers song - whoa.  Was this before or after "Rock & Roll Heaven"?
This came on heels of "Rock & Roll Heaven."  Too bad Bobby Hatfield OD'd on coke.

great song!  great voices...   he was getting coked up before a show (I just read on wikipedia).

Wikipedia JINX!
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

Gordon Lightfoot is one of three Canadian acts (or partially Canadian) I can name so far.  can you name the other two? .. and maybe there's more..
The Guess Who and BTO
forgot abt BTO, so there's one more that I'm thinking of (partially Canadian)...
Dunno, I assume its a group, not an individual.

Half of a group:  Tommy Chong was born in Edmonton, Alberta.

Dave's not here, you hoser!

Aha!  Hence the linking up with Bobby Taylor and the Vancouvers.

and too bad John Denver had to fly his Rocky Mtn ass into the ocean off Monterey in '95. :-[   But yea for John Lennon with Elton John on backing vocals!  For hitting #1 in a few weeks, Lennon had to honor bet with Elton to appear with him at Thanksgiving concert at Madison Square Garden.

I saw them a couple years ago at Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton. Fun to see 'em up close. They were so young when they hit it big (1972 Grammy for Best New Artist) that they're still relatively young (late 50s).  A fun show, I especially dig long version of Sandman from first album.

seeing bands-well-past-their-prime-at-county-fairs is one of my favorite hobbies!

this past year I saw a few:
Joan Jett @ Marin
Boys II Men @ Alameda (although that was not planned, we just went to the Fair and sat for a few songs; loved the Alameda Fair, btw!);
Village People and KC & The Sunshine Band @ San Mateo

I live in Pleasanton so hit that fair a couple times during its run. You may have seen my annual exhibit on history of rock music in the Hobby Building.

yes, I think I did...  can't recall specifics, but we did spend some time in that pavilion.  got any pics you could post here?

I liked the model train setup, too.  I've always wanted to see that display...
