More "History of Black Radio" from Judge -- NYC's WRKS (aka "Kiss") from 1981. And we're promised a Jermaine Jackson mega-set at 3pm.

Before our Jermaine Jackson Special, Judge spins Grace Jones "Pull up to the Bumper in your long black limousine" (nudge-nudge, wink-wink)

Another fab retro-chart show on CG: Oct 1966. New-to-me hits include Sonny & Cher's "Little Man", Georgie Fame's cover of "Sunny" (!) and Roy Orbison's "Too Soon to Know". Yet to come: Dave Dee Dozy Beaky Mick & Tich!  And OMG here's Bobby Darin getting hip with "If I Were a Carpenter"

Hooray for WLNG, the only other place besides 10@10 that I ever hear the Montanas' "You've Gotta Be Loved".

Bomp-she-bomp and oo-wee-oo: WLNG plays the Chiffons' fab "I Have a Boyfriend", also a Little Steven fave (he has probably played it more than any other song in the 3 years I've been listening to his show) that I barely remembered before he re-impressed it upon me. Now it's one of my very favorite girl-group records.

Someone at 'LNG likes the Critters: yesterday, their cover of the Spoonful's "Younger Girl"; today, "Mr. Dieingly Sad".

Checking in at CG, but man, I wish their player's volume wasn't defaulted to "max"--every week it comes on just blasting.
Let's get right to it.

guess they assume their target demo is a bit deaf from 40 years of listening to RAWK.

ah, Dusty -- "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me".
