I'll tune out as soon as we get "The Power of Love."  Yawn.   :x

85 seems a little early for Chris Isaak, but this sure sounds like him, reverb and all. And I don't think I've heard this one before.
Let's get right to it.

the piano riff sounds like "can't cry if you don't know how..."

HM to well-done coke-rock from the Power Station.

someone else played him in '85 the other day, no? Different song. I believe this is the Silvertone LP but don't hold me to it.

I liked Power Station generally, but a remake of "Bang a Gong" was unnecessary.

I think that's Richard Thompson's When the Spell is Broken, but you're right.

Early VHM to Arcadia (is that the right name?) and their cover of T. Rex.

ETA: Ah, yes. Power Station. That's it. Where'd I get Arcadia?

If more bibles were torn into little strips, we might get somewhere.

Ay-MEN, mah brotha!

VHM to the Anthony Michael Hall clip. Kudos to Dave for NOT playing the song in its entirety.

This TFF is sounding a lot like Peter Gabriel of the mid-80s, but it must be just the generic production values of the era. And he was copying them more than the other way around, since he didn't release an album between 82 and 86 (Birdy soundtrack notwithstanding).
Let's get right to it.
