Been CG-ing, and Dean just played guitar rave-up version of "Sabre Dance" by Love Sculpture, Dave Edmunds' early band.
Wretched excess, but I've got it if anyone needs a listen.  Pretty long.

This must've been a single edit they played.

But OMG, here's the Purple One himself, "Diamonds & Pearls"!

last thing I expected from CG today: the new Eagles single, which I didn't even know existed. "No More Cloudy Days", a Glenn Frey number. Rather pretty, actually.

Leon Russell's "Stranger in a Strange Land"

Is it true that KFOG never plays this?  It was a total KSAN staple back in the day.

I've never heard it in regular rotation, or on 10@10.

My playlists back to Nov. 2004 show they've only ever played Leon Russell once:

Thu Sep 22 11:18:00 2005     LEON RUSSELL    BACK TO THE ISLAND

There was a bluegrass Pink Floyd tribute LP a few years back, I'm assuming that's it.  Also, the Austin Lounge Lizards did a bluegrassy cover of "Brain Damage".

KPIG stream?
« Reply #38 on: July 14, 2006, 10:48:45 AM »
Hey -- anybody have a working (and free) KPIG stream?  I know, I know I shouldn't be cheap, but I listen so rarely...

This one seems broke:  http://64.236.34.196:80/stream/1001

Thanks.

Wow, the KRSH stream sounds harrible.  As if somebody hooked up an FM radio to their PC and started streaming it.  Pity they can't get a real feed from the board.

OTOH, who cares -- they're playing a new (?) Johnny Cash tune I've never heard before:  God's Gonna Cut You Down.

Dayam that was good.

is there such an animal (pun intended) as a "free" KPIG stream? I thought it was subscription only, then 6 months ago they were talking about it being free but I could never get it to work.

When the 1510 AM version went on the air last year, they were broadcasting a version of the stream for a while -- basically one of the 2 channels, which meant anything that used "true" stereo (like most Beatle tunes) was missing half the song.

I had a great stream, and a great Soul Patrol Lunch!

sometimes, the stream just craps out, and gives me this buzzing sound.

Was the Floyd cover Luther Wright & the Wrongs?

Johnny Cash's new album (American Recordings Vol 5: Let's Cash In While We Still Can) is #1 in the nation right now.  Dubious distinction: at about 88K albums sold, it's the lowest-selling #1 debut album of the Soundscan era.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”
