WLNG Nugget o' the Day: Lesley Gore, "California Nights".

Nugget #2, The Buckinghams' "Susan" -- the looong version with the weirdass sound effects.

Both major faves of mine, especially the Gore sunshine pop (written by Marvin Hamlisch!).

"Susan" was a huge fave of mine when I was, what, 13? Didn't hear the "loong" version (not that much longer, actually) till sometime later. The song itself sounds like it was written with the Four Seasons in mind, doncha think?
