It never occurred to me until just now that Steve Martin owes his career to Steely Dan.

The reading was pretty good, but the best part was catching up with someone from my childhood.  I stayed out way too late with her at the lounge in the Hotel Monaco (& I have called in sick today because of the hangover).

This fake jazz on the other hand....

Speaking of Steely Dan, was surprised to hear, amid all the indie rock being played between bands at the Belle and Sebastian/New Pornos show last night, SD's Only A Fool Would Say That. Nice to get a shoutout to all us fogies in the crowd.
