While I'm an old sop for "Get Together" (Youngbloods version) I don't understand why use it in 1969, the year of the re-release.  It's much better for 1967.

once again, much much obviousness. This is like one of those DC-era "60s for Dummies" sets. Only the TJ has not been heard a million times in this context.

As for "Get Together" it was a "hit" in '69 and that's when the masses remember it from (thanks to WABC turning that obscure LP cut into a PSA for The Nat'l Conference of Christians & Jews, which led to its re-release).

ETA: OK, the Marvin too is not an FF. But everything else...

First time in a long time I've heard the non-bleeped version of "Boy Named Sue." Extra Frink points for that.
Let's get right to it.

I'd say the Marvin tune hasn't made many appearances either, iirc. None in the Shraytabase, need to do a search for the AL/RR eras. And I'll give a thumbs up to the Elvis tune, too, not for rarity's sake but because it's a damn great song.
Let's get right to it.

The Tom Jones number was also originally released in '67 (made the Top 50), but it was rereleased in '69 to capitalize on his This Is Tom Jones TV show (and it worked - reached the Top 10).
Tuned to a natural E

I guess it's the same old story.  Radio was happening differently out here back then.  Songs were getting wide airplay here long before other parts of the country.
