It's been nice hanging out with y'all on my Spring break.  I'm gonna crank Quicksilver's "The Fool" to close off the festivities.
Don't stand in the way of LOVE!

With "fool" in the title of each song, this played like an extended version of Connected.

Johnny Winter and Cardigans didn't register on the KFOG Tunegenie; I'm surprised about the Cardigans tune, which seems like it gets some KFOG airplay.

sometimes TuneGenie is just wonky, i think. The Peak did a 1973 set today and amidst a bunch of off-format rarities, it was Dr John's "Right Place Wrong Time" that didn't show up.

Yup, it's an imprecise tool to determine relative rarities.

Actually, it's one of those annual sets that's always pleasant but rarely earth-shattering (like Tax Day or Earth Day, both coming soon).

I think one can extend that to most 'themed' sets - about 90% of them range from ok/pleasant to awful (the Giants' opening day set from 2011 comes to mind). Once in a blue moon, we get something awesome, like AL's ode to radio. But yeah, I think radical said at least once something to effect regarding theme sets: Pass

I think it's that way -- hit or miss -- with all 10@10s.  One of my favorite AL theme sets was
her nautical show on 12-Oct-10 to commemorate Fleet Week.

A lot of theme sets are related to holidays or other annual events, and when associated songs
become perennials then the concept runs the risk of getting stale.  We're seeing that a little
with the St. Patrick's Day sets featuring Irish music.  Dave avoided this by taking different
perspectives (songs about green for St. Patrick's Day; Valentine's Day sets about breakups
or sex).  Dave also had his regular theme sets like Soul Patrol and Strictly Instrumental, which
are broad enough to offer great variety.
