I'm listening to 2NG and KFOG's TuneGenie just says "10@10 Thursday".  Anybody?

I was guessing 1988, but apparently "Hourglass" is from 87. So 87 it is.

What is 2NG?

eek. Glad I'm missing it -- was '87 one of Tim's predictions? (ETA: no)

2NG is Atlantic Oldies 2NG (2 Nations' Gold) -- a British internet oldies stream. Lots of great obscurities as well as big hits. They do a retro chart show on Thurs where they count down a UK Top 40 from sometime in the past 55 years. Today they're in June 1963.

Ahhh. It's not all that bad. "Sentimental Hygeine" just played, with Warren sounding very much like Neil Young, both in vocals and guitar.

Now it's "Throwing Stones" which I know you can't stand, but I still enjoy. Reminds me of Dead concerts at Frost. Those were the days.

I heard that heavy reverb drenched squealing sound, and also thought of Neil!

And yes, the Dead at Frost, great times.

ah, another song (the Zevon) that was one of my requests first time around. What a great underappreciated LP that was.

I think it's even underappreciated by me.  I was thinking that maybe I should have it.

I recall it being on a lot of 10-Best lists that year. It got tons of airplay on NYC FM  and was hailed as a big comeback for him (his first LP on Virgin after leaving Asylum and not recording for 5 years). But it didn't really sell, sadly. Great songs.
