My mom just LURVED Gene Barry. We always watched "Burke's Law" in my house (it was a pretty cool show, actually). And he made a comeback in his late '60s doing Las Cage Aux Folles on B'way, as one-half of the gay couple, which was still a rather brave thing to do in 1984.
