but that's just KFOG.  I've heard at least 3, if not 4, other tracks on other stations already.  "Know Your Enemy", "Last of the American Girls", "Song of the Century" are all first rate, imho.

Just digging into my usual Sat. a.m. housework, and post replay I switched over to channel 840 (XM Deep Tracks) on my DirecTV.  The first song was actully pretty cool, but when I wandered over to see who it was, I was rather astonished.

It was, in fact, Andrew "Lonely Boy" Gold, doing "Halloween Party" one of the nine original Halloween songs on his record:

Don't doubt it. In fact, I rather liked "21 Guns" at first too, but I'm just getting a little sick of it.

Never seen that album before but Philly Joe Jones played drums with the Miles Davis Quintet in the mid-50s, and was one of the preeminent bebop drummers of that time. He took the nickname "Philly Joe" to avoid confusion with another drummer named Jo Jones. Contrary to popular myth, however, he is not related to the *other* Jones family of jazz, Thad (trumpet), Hank (piano), and Elvin (drums).
Let's get right to it.
