The Peak, 07/31/08: It's 1974
« on: July 31, 2008, 07:25:55 AM »
Lot of enjoyable stuff here, including two productions that rescue thin vocal efforts (EC's "Let It Grow," ELO's "Boy Blue"); my BOS to Joni's exploration of social anxiety, "Other People's Parties."
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

Rob's got a nice sense of bookending today: after opening with Clapton, he closes with Bob Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff."

Oops, I stand corrected: That was only song #9.  We close with the Raspberries' glorious "Overnight Sensation."  And if the record promoter don't pull it, it's bound to get back the bullet!

"I just wanna write a lyric
non-offensive but satiric"

Would that Ludacris had been so subtle.
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round
