BOS "I'm the Slime". Someday Dave should do 10 songs about TV, without any themes.  "Watchin' TV With The Radio On", "Dirty Laundry", Nilsson's "Kojak Columbo", etc.

uh-oh, "I Love Lucy" megamix.

"Loooocy, I'm home from de Club!"

I'd've preferred the Wilton Place Street Band's "Disco Lucy".

Or that Jetsons remix, "Jane Stop This Crazy Thing".

Hey! Was Dave lurking or what!?

maybe he's an ll cool j fan.

Wwwsshhhhttt, that went right over my head.  Oh wait, now I get it.  LL was in the remake movie, wasn't he?

i don't know about that. but ll sampled the theme from swat in his "mama said knock you out."

wow, obscurity upon obscurity!  Mark's right, he was in the movie, and I assumed that's what you were referencing too.

well, now i'm confused. i thought it was that ll song...but maybe it wasn't. and i've just as quickly forgotten what the swat theme sounds like. i'll have to find it online to be certain.

i've never seen the film, though.

I'd still love to know what prompted this today.  But it was certainly a pleasant alternative to the usual autopilot Monday set.

Tim Goodman may have had something to do with it--they were talking to him about it this morning.
Let's get right to it.

Re: what prompted the set... I was still kind of asleep, but the Morning Show did have Tim Goodman on this morning talking about the TV Critics Show down in L.A.  And the 9:00 Quiz (that went until like 9:20AM because apparently no Fogheads watched TV in the 80s) was all about 80s TV:

- What was Mallory's fiance's name from Family Ties?
Nick, played by Scott Valentine
- Which member of the A-Team was a pilot?
Murdock!  Howling Mad Murdock!  (NOT played by Dirk Benedict!  They gave 1/2 credit to the caller who said that!)
- What was the name of the cat from the Smurfs?
Azriel (sp?)

Sigh -- for John Mayer/Sheryl Crow tix.  Oh well, I won Nickel Creek a few weeks back, so I wasn't eligible.  But I should've called just to get the answers right.  Jeeezus!!

Hrm.  I heard a promo for it over the weekend, so clearly it had been decided upon last week. And since I only hear the first hour of the Morning Show, all the little discussions and asides are lost to me.

Rosalie's bonus: "California", Phantom Planet. (It's from The O.C. -- I didn't know either).

Oh, this was a pleasant surprise, and we don't hear the Rockford Files theme that often.  (Would love it, though, if Dave would bring some more instrumentals into the mix, like "Keem-O-Sabe" or the Incredible Bongo Band's "Apache.")

BOS, though to "BAAA-BAAH-LUUU!!!!"

My best of set would go to Bob James for the Taxi theme. Nice soothing jazz tune.

TV Party this morning!

Hanging around waiting for the phone call to go pick Christina up from the hospital & bring her home.
