I just looked at the album credits for Fulfillingness' First Finale, which in addition to the J5, credits three more artists who went on to have #1 hits.  Any guesses?  Hint: two had backing vox credits & one had the only guitar credit.


Guitar: Ray Parker Jr.

No idea on the vox without cheating, though.


Surprisingly no.  I went to AMG expecting that it would be Ray, but it's instead a white guy who became an 80's OHW.


Michael Sembello?  I know he appeared on SITKOL.

Chake hit #3 twice, once with Rufus.

One of the two I'm asking about hit #1 the following year & it was her only Hot 100 entry (high cheese, nearly a novelty record).

The other actually hti #1 twice, once in a duet in the 70's that I'd forgotten all about, and a bigger hit off a major 80's soundtrack. The guitar player also hit it big off a major 80's sondtrack.

Yep, although I also noticed that he's actually a two-hit wonder, he had a follow up record peak at #34.
