news: Reagan at the ranch --> Stevie W "Master Blaster". Closest to an LN/FF so far, at least to my ears.
I like this song. It takes me back. Reminds me of the cow orker at my summer job after senior year in high school educating me on Bob Marley. Jammin' was the tune.

Also, we played this in the Stanford Band soon after. I didn't realize it had been arranged so recently.

Nice! I've never heard of them, and never knew Robyn Hitchcock had a previous band.

2/19/16 - Friday!  It's 1980

1. The B52's - Give Me Back My Man
(Movie:  Star Wars:  The Empire Strikes Back)
2. Devo - Girl U Want
3. Elvis Costello - I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down
4. The Babys - Back On My Feet Again
5. Linda Ronstadt - I Can't Let Go
(News:  President-elect Reagan relaxes on his ranch while his transition team works in Washington)
6. Stevie Wonder - Master Blaster (Jammin')
(George H. W. Bush praises Ronald Reagan at the Republican Convention)
7. The Soft Boys - I Wanna Destroy You
(Movie:  Star Wars:  The Empire Strikes Back:  Yoda warns against the dark side)
8. Pat Benatar - You Better Run
(Movie:  Star Wars:  The Empire Strikes Back)
9. Steve Forbert - Romeo's Tune
10.The Spinners - Working My Way Back to You

No. 5 appears to be a bust-out.

Nice! I've never heard of them, and never knew Robyn Hitchcock had a previous band.

I Wanna Destroy You would have gotten my BOS had I heard it. Set was done by 10:40 when my meeting ended.

Great band. Underwater Moonlight is an amazing record. (Full disclosure: I didn't discover them til the late 80s/early 90sKim by way of the Young Fresh Fellows and their song "Give it to the Soft Boys.")

Btw, Kimberley Rew of the Soft Boys also went on to greater fame as the guitarist in Katrina and the Waves.

Let's get right to it.
