KFOG's 10@10 / 25 May 2009: Strictly Instrumental!
« on: May 25, 2009, 10:05:45 AM »
I tuned in for a few minutes to hear the end of a long (ABB?) instrumental whose title I really should know.  (Elizabeth Reed?)  Followed by Mason Williams' Spanish-guitarist-gets-run-over-by-a-marching-band opus "Classical Gas."

I'm almost afraid to know where it might rank on others' scales.

A new thread, for chart geeks like me.

I forget which thread it was posted on, but I was guessing which songs had held the record for most weeks on the Hot 100 chart.  I knew LeAnn Rimes' "How Do I Live" was at or near the top.

Anyway, Billboard posted the answer to this last week, so I thought I'd repost. Mike, I'm sorry to inform you that Mraz *rebounds* this week from 27 to 23 with "I'm Yours" in its 54th week.  Since it's in the midst of a long reign atop the AC chart, it might get close to the record.

69, "How Do I Live," LeAnn Rimes, 1997
65, "Foolish Games/You Were Meant for Me," Jewel, 1997
64, "Before He Cheats," LeAnn Rimes, 2007
62, "You and Me," Lifehouse, 2005

Something devastatingly sad about Janis Joplin in context with "Get It While You Can."

I tuned in at 1:25pm ET in time for the Corrs + Bono's take on "When the Stars Go Blue."

TOTHK = Itchykoo.  (Bless you.)

BOS1 to Yellow Submarine clip, though I wish we'd gone into a song from the movie instead of "Martha, My Dear."

BOS to R.E.M.'s, ahem, "Pop Song '89."

WOS to "Shattered Dreams."  I usually reliably love sophistipop, but never cared for JHJ's work.
