Beaten to death with a hammer.  U.S. Evangelical Christians must be jizzing themselves with delight.  This is God's will, right?

I fucking hate this world.

In Memoriam, Happy Birthday / RIP Peter Orlovsky, 76

Allen Ginsberg's longtime partner, himself a poet, of lung cancer, in Vermont, at 76:

Orlovsky was predominantly heterosexual, from various accounts I've read, yet his partnership with Ginsberg lasted 30 years.  It's good to be reminded that sometimes love takes unexpected forms.

Stream of Consciousness / 5 word reviews of whatever

At URL below, photos of the Star Trek exhibit now to Jan at the Tech Museum in San Jose; includes sets, costumes, other memorabilia from the TV show and movies.  Saw a feature about it on one of the local evening magazine TV shows, looks cool.
http://www.startrekexhibition.com/slideshow  and  www.theTech.org
I've heard about this for a while, but the slideshow looks great!

My wife's uncle called right after leaving the show and left me this voicemail:

"Hi Darryl -- this is Ryan.  I'm calling because I know you're on the Internet and stuff, and I wanted you to get this out there:  We just got out of the Star Trek show at the San Jose Tech.  It's not that great.  Thanks."
Does your uncle watch Star Trek every night?
 ;)

Whether he does or doesn't, this would be an entertaining recurring feature: Darryl's uncle reviews movies in 5 words.

Or we can all do reviews in 5 words.  I have one for the forthcoming Zac Efron in Me and Orson Welles:
