This is a week late, but, at RGMike's suggestion, here is a Good Friday/Jesus Rock set:

 

This was spectacular, Cap'n.  Hadn't thought of the Judee Sill song in ages.  Love the BJ Thomas and Glen Campbell tunes. Dorothy Morrison's cover of "SITS" is amazing.

I'd've added Tom Paxton's "Jesus Christ, SRO" but that's probably hard to find.

But methinks that was the Carl Anderson movie sndtk version of "Superstar" and not Murray Head.

Oops, I think I did use the movie soundtrack version.

I should have asked for requests -- should I do a follow-up Easter set?  I do have that Tom Paxton album (Peace Will Come).  If there are any Jesus/God/etc. songs you'd like to hear, let me know.  This set focused mainly on the late '60s-early '70s (save for Johnny Cash).

Dorothy Morrison (who you hear on "Oh Happy Day") turns in a funky performance, no?  It managed to chart in late '70.
