Well, that picked up at the end, and we DID avoid Color Me Badd and "Enter Sandman". So it coulda been worse.

Enter Sandman!  see, now THAT would've been fun!

If I vote for Geo Thoroughbred for BOS, does that automatically mean I vote for all his other songs that pretty much sound just like this one?

well then, I vote Atari (esp Asteroids) BOS

VHM Icehouse, "Hey Little Girl" -- one of their best Roxy imitations -- after a Cagney & Lacey clip.

heh, I thought I heard some Roxy Music in there.. Avalon was done in '82, yeah?  I wouldn't mind hearing some of that.  I never mind Roxy -- w few exceptions.

Smiling is a katrina?  yikes!  i wish the rest of KFOG has as much Katrina-ing!

MY BOS for Sly and his Family Stones!

If you look at the main page you'll find a link to the "Shraytabase" (a term coined by Urth, not me) which is a Db I've been maintaining of setlists going back to 2000.  It's only about 70% complete up to April 2004, but it has every set since then.

Anything that appears in over 20% of sets for that given year is my definition of a Katrina.

cool.  I'll chk it out..   btw, Ben Fong Torres's Radio Waves in the Chronicle twice recently talked about overplayed stuff on radio, w KFOG in mind:

I was thinking the same thing, though I already spent my vote on Angry Eyes.  How 'bout the "Thing with Two Heads"?  Is that a real movie?  Sounds way too silly -- Rosey Grier!

another one

I can't for the set that features Feist, Corrinne Bailey Rae, Colbie Caillet, Sara Bareilles (or however she spells it) and 6 other women who sound just like them.

so less colbie/corrine and more Patti, Janice, is what you're saying?  speaking of lady rockrrzzzz, I saw Joan Jett at the Marin County Fair a couple weeks back.  She's still got it, even if it's been scaled back to a county fair level.

Popcorn - HM - just for its synthiness

regarding Dave Morey's uninspired 80s and 90s 10@10s:

so ten years from now, I fear we can hear Dave's 2007 10@10's contain the predictable slices of music that I lump together into the Dave Matthews/Hootie & the Blowfish/Jack Johnson school of crap rock. (to be fair, there are some songs by DM and JJ that I don't even mind -- not Hootie, though, they suck all the time).

I like KFOG's playlist maybe 50% of the time, but they play a lot of music that I find tedious.

ok, back to 1972:

always nice to hear Todd...

sorry, Dave you played the "best" version of If I Were a Carpenter last week (4 Tops).  Seger... notsomuch.

I'll have to chk out Four Tops' version, but I thought Seger's was pretty noice.   Small Faces do a cover of it that's not bad, too...  great song for Steve Marriot's voice.

Okay, dish on the personality you have issues with.  We're friendly to each other, but also pretty snarky to everyone else at times.

uuurrr, not a big deal, but sometimes I find one of the female air personalities to be hard to take.  just one of those things, you know?  her voice can grate on me, and her chatter seems inane.  that'ss all I'll say unless someone else reveals similar levels of gossipy goodness.

Renee doesn't get a lot of love around here.  I love Annalisa myself, but 'chatty' could well be her middle name.

yeah, it's could be one of those two, or the other female they have. feh, not a big deal, but it's a peeve.
