And he said that the Marley version of "I Shot the Sheriff" was from the 60s. No.
And it's not pronounced "Blue Suede", is it? I was shocked by the number of errors. Not mentioning that "Whatever Gets You Through the Night" was essentially a duet with Elton John seemed like a big error too, especially since he was making a big deal out of how it was his only solo #1 (and it was followed by another duet).

Can't say it's not a varied set. Also can't say it's a set I need to hear. Have no idea what that James Bond clue is referring to.
I was guessing it was Guns N' Roses cover of "Live and Let Die". But that's probably more recent than 1992. Song number one is completely unknown to me. Not too thrilling.

ETA: Turns out "Live and Let Die" came out in late 1991, so it could be right.
ETAA: Except "LaLD" was pretty much a hit when it came out the first time. I think.

ETA: Dang, this is a pretty insipid set. I really don't remember 1992 being so boring. I was actually enthused about the 90s coming because I really didn't like much of the 80s. The Black Crowes seemed to signal a return of rock to to the radio. But sheesh, boring stuff in July.

Listening now...but 88? Meh.

Except for the Jr Walker rarity, another mostly "Sixties for Dummies" excursion.
I don't recognize this version "Sealed with a Kiss", but it's got some pretty pitchy singing.

I've enjoyed most of these, but that U2 song is not good. And I don't need to hear Sister Christian again.

"Beth" is somewhat amusing.

Bleah, not enjoying Eddie Izzard's massacre of "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite".

Overall, nicely done. Coulda done w/out Miley Cyrus, but I suppose that was preferable to Elton or Shatner.

BOS: Jeff Beck.
Damn, what the hell is going on with this song? How bizarre.

This "Extra" song is really something else! I have a feeling the Red Hot Chili Peppers heard this tune.

And I love "Tangled Up in Blue". BOS.

Kinda happy to hear Moreytrina "Magic" by Pilot. It takes me back...but is it to 10at10 or to 1975? Does it matter?

This has been bad. I was OK with the Huey Lewis tune, but the rest...blech. Sammy Hagar? No, not now, not ever. Never.

"Silver Spring" is a nice tune. I'd say that gives "Sara" a run for its money. That's my guess.

I'm gonna embarrass myself on the Stones tune, but that's life. I really should know their albums better, but it's never been that important to me.

You Can't Always Get What You Want / (Doo Doo Doo Doo) Heartbreaker

Can't hazard a guess for another Gary Glitter song, nor would I like think about it any further.

ETA: Heh, the Glitter song is the only one that could have been guessed since it's got Part II in the name. Duh!

U2...

Sweetest Thing / Desire

Pearl Jam is gonna be a wild stab too.

Yellow Ledbetter / Daughter

Love the interpreted (captioned) lyrics version of this song. Hilarious.

Errrrrotic City / Little Red Corvette

(I have no problem with these being B-sides, for the most part. Interesting songs in their own right, but generally not gonna be hits.)

I Am the Walrus / Strawberry Fields Forever (maybe Magical Mystery Tour)

This would be especially fun if I were clever enough to guess the A-sides from the B-sides, but I'll just enjoy the tunes. Guess I could make an attempt...

God Only Knows / Good Vibrations

Pink Cadillac / Dancing in the Dark

Into the Groove / Like a Virgin

You're 1 for 3 so far :)

The Springsteen is correct. But the Madonna one is actually kinda tricky.
Hey, I'll take batting 333 :-). But I'll have to settle for 250 after Kiss is done with me.

Beth / no idea what else they were doing around this time--Rock and Roll All Night

And my Gloria Gaynor discography is woeful.
