Movie: Beverly Hills Cop – #1 movie of the year

I'm pretty sure it was 1985, but ok...

EDIT: 12/9/1984... Well, I be damned.

  1992

1. Into The Fire – Sarah McLachlan
2. Who You Are – dada
3. Blood Makes Noise – Suzanne Vega
4. She Runs Hot – Little Village
5. Nightswimming – R.E.M.
6. Shy Of The Moon – The Wallflowers
7. Romeo & Juliette – Indigo Girls
8. Fly Like An Eagle – Neville Brothers

The way an early 90's show should be... not a single pop hit here!

 3. The Who - I Need You (1966)
 4. Ricky Nelson - I Need You (1963)
 5. Pointer Sisters - I Need You (1983)
 6. The Beatles - I Need You (1965)
 7. The Blackbyrds - I Need You (1974)
 8. Paul Carrack - I Need You (1982)
 9. The Friends Of Distinction - I Need You (1971)
10. Paul Revere & The Raiders - I Need You (1969)
11. Frankie Valli - I Need You (1977)
12. Chuck Jackson - I Need You (1965)
13. Timbuk3 - I Need You (1986)

https://soundcloud.com/retrocapnjack/348-10-10-i-need-you

I left out several of the more known "I Need You"s (America, LeAnn Rimes, Foreigner) in favor of a few obscure ones, so if I need to revisit, they'll be on that set.  In the meantime, enjoy this one!

On a similar vein, I'll request an "I Want You" set. Or have you done that already?

Inspired by DW's all-request week of clipless sets, this set is clipless as well.  Let me know what you think!

Thanks man! And you managed to not have to use Jamie Walters!  ;D

Stream of Consciousness / Re: Local (and other) radio news

Big news, sports-wise is that the Warriors are moving their games from KNBR to 95.7 The Game.

http://blogs.mercurynews.com/kawakami/2016/08/25/warriors-jump-knbr-95-7-fm-game-means-whats-next-tom-tolbert/

That is big news. And it will mean that the Giants are going to be the only local team to not have their games broadcast on FM.

Interesting concept - does it mean older artists who are:

a) still putting out memorable material (Springsteen)

or

b) still able to put out a good show (i.e. the Stones)

Apropos of nothing, this is pretty much how I remember 1994.

Go-Go's "Head Over Heels" for Honda

Those Honda a cappela spots are pretty cool, IMHO. There's also one with a boy's chorus doing Kiss' "I Was Made For Lovin' You"

Agreed

  2007

1. 100 Days, 100 Nights – Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings
2. No One – Alicia Keys
3. I Feel It All – Feist
4. Mind Control – Stephen Marley
5. Underdog – Spoon
6. Home in a Boxcar – Hoots and Hellmouth
7. The Pretender – The Foo Fighters

Funny that a 2007 set would be much more interesting than a 65, in the same week no less.

Bruce's Live/1975–85 was released on 11/10/1986

Yes. But Mr Willis thought "Trapped" was on it and it was not. He saw my comment on the Soundwaves page and he "mea culpa"-ed.

D'oh! That album had so much stuff on it I just assumed "Trapped" was present.

Still, as errors go, this is rather forgivable. At least he copped to it, unlike a certain former 10@10 host, whose reign was filled with errors that were not acknowledged.

#6. Landslide - Fleetwood Mac

Might this have been Smashing Pumpkins?
