Dean's playing the Macca/George Michael "Drive My car" duet from Live 8. If he didn't say it was George, I'd've never known, Paulie is totally dominating the mix.
But the big news: George and Elton have patched up their little spat. Oh good.

This uptempo reggae cover of "Help Me Make It Through the Night" is the most inappropriate treatment I've ever heard of what is supposed to be a sad song. What was he thinking?!
-
FLASH -- ahhhh-ahhhhh!
"these extraordinary intergalactical events..."
-
OMG! Cozy Powell, "Dance w/the Devil".
-
Been CG-ing off'n'on today to get their take on the bombings. Lots more news coverage than usual, and Dean is working the late shift tonite. He just played -- awww --- "United We Stand" by Brotherhood of Man. Loverly.

I'm not normally a fan of CG, but today when I saw your post, it hit me. The DJ was talking about flying flags in the UK, so it would seem the bombs, if they were intended to change people's minds, have failed. It's always hard to make sense though of insanity.

Gerg just said that Timmy "Why Can't We Live Together" Thomas plays on the new Joss Stone alnum -- damn, ah thought he was daid!
-
Ooh -- "Why Can't We Live Together." For all its technical amateurishness, there are few songs that send such a sharp chill down my backbone. I've imagined a video for this in which the one man who's survived nuclear holocaust sings this song from a cliffside as he surveys the ruins and wreckage beneath him.

Yeah - Todd had to work today. We had a great date, though -- deets to follow over email (unless other Clubbers really take interest in the play-by-play).
Glad you're here; wouldn't have wanted you to miss the mighty Tavares and what I assume is called "Check It Out."
-
Greg's playing some appropriate tunes. "Ball of Confusion" indeed.
Gaz, I wish you'd heard the Peak's 1979 set this AM -- see my comment in that thread and check out their replay if you're near the computer tonite.
-
High Gloss, "You'll Never Know". Fab -- did this get any attention in the US? Certainly has the makings of a drag queen classic if nothing else.
-
Greg read Geoff's email!
and now Ms Guthrie -- no romance w/out finance!
-
"No romance without finance!" Words of wisdom from that feminist Gwen Guthrie.

A true feminist would go out and get her own damn job, no?
-
Greg read Geoff's email!
a little embarrasing to hear the part about me flogging my blogging, but it made me smile nonetheless!
-
Ms Houston, "So Emotional".
"i don't know why I'm a lesbian crackhead... i just AM!"
-
He just read Ali's email too!
-
If anyone is interested, Mike Sweeney's playing the Pink Floyd set from Live 8 right now on CG.
-
switched over to WLNG after CGSS -- as if "Take it Away" on the Drive this morning wasn't enough, here's the Macca-goes-disco of "Goodnight Tonight".
