LAWD! JJ starts my day with Bobby Byrd, "Ah Know You Got Soul (If You Didn't, You Wouldn't Be in Here!)" Say YEAH!
-
OMGWFTLOL! "Life & Death in G & A", by Abaco Dream -- a Sly Stone compo & production (rumor was that it really *is* Sly under an alias) . Haven't heard this in ages. Got some NY airplay in '69 and I never understood why it wasn't a hit.

another fave obscurity: The Fascinations, "Girls Are Out To Get You", a Northern Soul/fauxtown classic.
-
Happy Birthday Sonny Bono -- he'd've been 75 today. 'LNG plays his only solo hit, "Laugh At Me".
-
Mercy! Radio de Sebb plays Gil Scott-Heron, "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised".
-
NTM and quite nice: Marlena Shaw covering Marvin's "Save the Children"
-
holy crap! Mel Brooks! "It's Good to Be the King" -- oo la la!
-
wow -- 'LNG just played the orig Barry McGuire version of "Calif Dreaming" with the Ms&Ps on backing vox. (same backing tracks used on the Ms&Ps hit version).
-
Treat of the Day: "Bang-Shang-a-Lang", the Archies' pre-"Sugar Sugar" hit.
-
Treat-of-the-Day 2: Electric Indian's "Keem-O-Sabe". The intro is quite similar to "Tusk", which I thought it was for a sec.
-
NTM: an earlier version of "Candida" by The Corporation (apparently not the Motown producing team of the same name) which Tony O heard and took to Bell records, who liked the song but not the vocals and suggested he re-record it himself. And the rest, as they say...
-
Listening to Little Steven's Valentine show -- Part 1 of a 3-part epic this year. Always one of his best.
-
a fab '60s twin-spin: the GrassRoots' forgotten "Where Were You When I Needed You?" followed by Kenny & the Edition, droppin' in and droppin' acid.
-
NTM on Radio Sebb: Al Green's take on "Oh, Pretty Woman". Beats VH's version all to hell.
-
OMFG: France Joli's "Come To Me", one of the great Donna Summer imitations. hard to believe she was 16 when she recorded this.
-
Jarreau Hands goes waltzing in the gar-dain!
-
also NTM: Esther Phillips, "Disposable Society".
