I'm with Mike--I think it's 60s today--and yeah, '69 is most likely.

As usual, off by a year--my record is intact!!!

Spill the Wine--not bad start. Wonder if this has been remastered--I was hearing more reverb on the guiro (sp?) at the intro than usual?

yes, and since it's Carrell, it may actually not suck.

BOS Neil -- last night's Simpsons was the one where Marge and Bart sing "Sweet Home Alabama":

Bart: "Mom, who's Neil Young?"
Marge: "He was a singer in the '60s -- like the Archies and the Banana Splits."

and then they have tea at a tea house called The Leaf Garret. LOL!

Okay, quick geographty lesson: The Yellow River is the 2nd longest river in China, after the Yangtze, and both are in the top 10 in the world.

In Mandarin the Yangtze is called the Chang Jiang, which literally translates as 'long river'.

Agreed. But some at the time tried to call Christie "the Brit answer to CCR" and I don't hear that all.  Now The Hollies "Long Cool Woman" -- there's a Brit CCR imitation (with some T.Rex thrown in for good measure).

Another very enjoyable week from Herr Morey. Last week I predicted we'd be '80s-heavy and I'm glad to be wrong. Not only the 2nd-week-in-a-row with three '70s sets, but our most recent set of the bunch was 1985. Not even the Mother of All Katrinas and the Katrina of all Hueys could dampen the fun.

It occurred to me that -- sadly -- no one "owed" us a 1979 set, so nobody was able to play EWF on Thursday to "'remember... the 21st of September".

Me no listening to KFrOG anymore.  It's RP or KPIG from here on out, with an occasional detour to KCDX.

KPIG in the  car, KHUM online, Morey for breakfast.  What about the rest of you?

I listen to KPIG in the car and at home most of the time. I do wake up with Dave (and I'm not even Latino!   ) and when I get to work it's 4 hours of "10@10s Across America".  I alternate between KPOO/CG/VIP/'CDX/'LNG the rest of the day.

George is sounding particularly expansive in this tune.

That's Phil for ya.

"While the Pope owns 51% of General Motors
And the stock exchange is the only thing he's qualified to quote us"

I'd completely forgotten how fricking GREAT that line is.

I was never able to decipher what he was saying, but damn you're right! I may have to change my quote.

I was on my way to the Exploratorium 'Chemapalooza' this morning, and heard this again, whilst driving.  I cranked the hell out of it, and just marvelled at the beautiful energy.

I thought "Chemapalooza" was the audience at a Dead show...
