Title: Thirsty Thursday 2/17
Post by: Gazoo on February 17, 2005, 06:56:13 AM
Don't mind me, it's early and I need a Mountain Dew.

When and why did David Bowie cover "America"?  Sorry if I missed something obvious but this is my first time hearing this.  Sounds a bit circus-y but his voice is in fine form.

"those shoes" on ddt. i always wanted to cover this song, playing drums and singing like don. and then i could change one of the lines, and sing, "where did you get those shoes?"

and now it's a Dave Mason version of "All Along The Watch Tower".  I've never heard this before, but I'd recognize his voice just about anywhere.

I've heard it on DDT a few times, but never before then. It's from one of the post-9/11 Concert live albums.

Son of a gun. Son of a son...

Now that Mr Buffett is doing duets with country stars, I wonder if he still sings the line about "I'm glad I don't live in a trailer" -- he's got a whole new fanbase for whom a trailer would be an upgrade.

OOO! speaking of country, one of my fave Stones songs, "Dead Flowers"!

Take me down , little Suzie!
