and our pre-SS entertainment: the original "Eloise"! Woo Hoo!
-
It be Marfa! "Honey Chile" Sho' 'bout to drive me wild! I'd walk me a country mile!
-
Hey Ali! it's Teddy's "Don't Leave Me This Way".
-
And for Gaz, "Lessons in Love", Level 42.
-
I tuned in just in time for "Lessons in Love." It's gorgeous, of course -- but hardly soulful. When is Soul Spectrum on?
-
OOH: Diana The Boss. Quite possibly her best solo single of the period.

This is SS -- I guess they consider it a dance record.

By "the period" is assume you mean post-"Love Hangover", pre-"Upside Down"?

I consider "her disco period" to be 1975 - 1982. In other words, everything after "My Mistake" but before "Missing You" and "Swept Away." "The Boss" tops "Upside Down."
And now, OMGWTFLOL, it's "Float On"!!!

"... and my name is Gaz... I like a woman who carries herself like... Tom Brady!"
I have NEVRr heard ths JB tune on the radio.

I respectfully disagree... much as I do like "The Boss" I'm inclined to side with your Boss, Mr Christgau, who called "Upside Down" "...the most becoming strait-jacket" Ms R had ever worn.
-
Chairmen of the Board - on - 45? "Loverboy", "Everything's Tuesday" and "Give Me Just a Little More Time" all smashed together.
-
Ah, Johnny Nash, "Hold Me Tight." Used to be a Dave fave, now it's lost and forgotten ...
-
Mmmm... Alexander O'Neal. I didn't request "Fake" today because poc isn't here, but lo and behold, Greg's playing "All True Man".
-
Jermaine! "Let's Get Serious"! What a fab TOTHC or SuperHitSix this would make.
-
and now ALL the Jacksons, "Blame it on the Boogie"
"We spent the night in 'Frisco
Using every kind of Crisco..."
