I tuned in just in time for "Lessons in Love."  It's gorgeous, of course -- but hardly soulful.  When is Soul Spectrum on?

OOH: Diana The Boss.  Quite possibly her best solo single of the period.

I consider "her disco period" to be 1975 - 1982.  In other words, everything after "My Mistake" but before "Missing You" and "Swept Away."  "The Boss" tops "Upside Down."

I respectfully disagree... much as I do like "The Boss" I'm inclined to side with your Boss, Mr Christgau, who called "Upside Down" "...the most becoming strait-jacket" Ms R had ever worn.
