Yes, 10 songs with the word "Good" -- AL will be taking suggestions tonite.
(and of course next Friday is the "Fool" set, with Tax Day and Earth Day set for later in the month)
Knowing Fogheads we'll end up with "Good Thing", "Good Vibrations" and "Good Times". (there are literally dozens of titles beginning with "Good" in the Billboard Charted Singles list)
-
Awww, I thought she was gonna do a Jesus Rock set. If anyone wants to hear some Jeebus, check out the "10@10: Alternative Takes" section -- 3 different sets to choose from!

yeah she gave it a "like" as did 6 or 7 other folks. Oh well. Your sets more than make up for it, Cap'n.

Dozens and dozens... seems like pretty thin soup to me. Up next, songs that contain the letter "e".

and sure enuf, those were requested. Quite a lengthy thread, actually (over 100 comments) and in the middle of it all some genius typed
Edger Winter Free Ride
Whaa?? There's one in every crowd, I tells ya.

LOL. It's like one of those FB memes - - "I bet you can't come up with a girl's name that begins with M"

Wish I had a buck for everyone that requested Good Day Sunshine or Good Vibrations in that thread. Sheesh. (That said, I'll be surprised if we don't hear one or both of those.)
My personal request (which I don't think was duplicated) is Jefferson Airplane's Good Shepherd. Slim chance, since I just requested it about 20 minutes ago, but you never know.

"Good" isn't Better (than Ezra)

"Good" isn't Better (than Ezra)
I heard they were going to change their name to "Better than George Ezra".

Ha! Anything's better than George Ezra. I'm totally stealing that line.
JB feels "Good". No surprise there

Devo wants a Good Thing. And that's good. BOS1.

I'm afraid FYC can't be far behind Devo. But BOS in the meantime.

For the moment it's Good Things (plural) from the Bodeans. I'll take that as a win if it keeps FYC out of the set.

WOS Disco Dead.
-
VHM to the Dead. The recorded version isn't their best representation of this song, but live this one could really rip.
-
WOS Disco Dead.
Hey, this ain't no Shakedown Street! I like it. Always enjoyed hearing this in concert.

yeah, SS is more disco-y, tho' iirc Arista serviced this one to clubs too. It was all Clive Davis' fault.
There are few things I agree with Dave Marsh about, but his line about the Dead doing the lamest, whitest covers of R&B songs ever is pretty (pun intended) dead-on.
MAW, "Be Good Johnny" gets a VHM.
-
Men at Work, Be Good Johnny
This song is why leaving these things to Foghead requests can be a minefield.
-
Reggae "Johnny B Goode" -- Toots? Tosh? Jimmy Cliff?
ETA: Tosh.

Of course, Good Lovin' was blue-eyed soul to begin with. What does that make this? Albino Soul?

well, actually the Rascals version was a white cover of an R&B original (the Olympics, iirc).
Amy can't get joy, 'cause she's no "good"
-
Beatles "GDS" FTW!

I did not know that! Now, I do.
What's the weird "No Good" version?
-
Beatles "GDS" FTW!
and it turns into a fab four twin-spin with "Good Morning2" We went to eleven.
-
And it's a Beatles (yay!) twin-spin! But does that make this one number 11?
-
BOS for "Good Morning". It's quite a composition and production too.
-
Haha, George Ezra on cue to make sure you don't leave your dial on KFOG accidentally.
-
3/25/16 - Friday! It's "good" songs

5. Grateful Dead - Good Lovin'
(Movie: E.T.: "be good")

Dave Marsh exposes himself in this, if he really said that. Their Pigpen-era versions of "Turn On Your Lovelight" and Otis' "Hard to Handle" are classics. The modern day "Good Lovin'" was more like a gospel revival in a hippie kind of way. But everyone's got to have their clever opinions!

I just listened to this literally yesterday, and was reminded that AL 1.0 was digging deeper
into JA's catalogue than Dave had, as she was with some other artists I favor. Sadly that
changed a few years back and we haven't seen a return.

The Dead have always been about the live show. Some of what was put on vinyl seems stale by
comparison, and IMO the Shakedown Street album is among the poorer efforts in that regard.
